Metroid Thread?

So when I was in Greece I re-played through Metroid Zero Mission, and doing so really really made me want a new 2D Metroid, on the DS. There were rumors of one called Metroid Dread, and it was originally due out in 2006, but there has been no mention of it in the last 2 years. Until Nintendo recently officially commented that there is going to be no dread...

So it doesn't sound like there is much hope for dread, but keep in mind PR folks do often blatantly lie! This was what prompted the statement from Nintendo.

From the wikipedia article:

Matt Casamassina, when asked about Metroid Dread in a podcast on the August 24, 2007, mentioned that "a wink to the fans" about the game was in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, although he clarified that this was by no means a confirmation of the title. This was later explained as an in-game message in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (by scanning a panel within the Pirate Homeworld's "Metroid Processing" room) stating "Experiment status report update: Metroid project 'Dread' is nearing the final stages of completion."[9]. In an interview, Pacini stated that this was a coincidence and not related to the rumoured game[10]. On September 6, 2007 Nintendo said they are "not making the 2D Metroid at this point in time." Anyone who didn't watch the Zelda one should watch all 6 (or at least definitely the awesome last one) right now.

They also have like an 87 part Final Fantasy one that I haven't started yet.

You were in Greece? Did you eat a gyro? I so totally would have eaten like a million gyros and I would try and buy them with euros at a restaurant called Eros...if I were in Greece that is...

Yeah I mean that has a whole lot of potential for sure but I haven't really had much fun with a)the Metroid Prime series and b)the last few Team Ninja games... so... here's hoping they break that trend!

I was indeed in greece! I was there for 3 weeks, and actually only had one gyro. It had fries in it, i regard it as a california gyro.
