Alkai Diggins Says Goodnight.
For the time being..
Some of you on here know the diggs.. some don't .. either way:
The next scheduled show is the last of 2004 and from there on, the band will be in hiatus. Several projects will come out of this and, in time, we will be releasing a very eclectic, massive, full length album. This is a mutual decision and absolutely nothing bad or degrading can be said about the project as it stands.
SO...
SEPTEMBER 17th
DOC MAYNARDS (21+)
Alkai Diggins
Northwest Royale
Domeshots
This is it homies.. if you have a means.. come see the kicker!
May this be a formal invite

Well.... You should think about it. What do you have planned anyway? BTW - do you check your damn voice mail? CALL OUT: Why are you such a hard muther fucker to contact? I swear dude, we live a couple hours apart and I can't even get you on the phone. Kevin can back me up on this one and I talk to him all the time so I know it isn't us. You have been officially CALLED OUT. Now let's drive to Seattle.

As most of you know, I was able to make it up to Sea-town for this past weekend. Boy am I glad I did. Not to throw rice in the faces of any of the non-washington-going california-monkeys here, but damn did you guys miss out. A special thanks to Monsieur d'Spidarmonkee for letting me crash at his abode. The two of us had a great time showing around Seattle newcomer Danz and almost going to jail in the process. But how cool was it to kick it stateside?! We also had a nice little J3rk styled get together complete with a l2icks0r appearance and cousins Stroh.
On to the show!...
I have never seen so much hugging in a mosh pit! Numerous times I saw people smash the shit out of each other, turn to see who it was, and then embrace in a fit of metal fueled angst filled joy.
The show was wild! Everyone was having a great time. Gracing Doc Maynard's with their presence were forum members Agent Bos, Buzzworthy, G-spot (+1), SpeedCricket (+1), SpiderMonkey, Danz and of course Neb. Other persons of interest to be spotted were Casey Sirotak, Crichton & Sophie, Amy & Jen, Teh Reckin, Ian, Jared, and you'd never guess it, but Boones. Anyway, needless to say the diggins boys gave it everything they had. They blasted through their entire celebrated collection and ended the regular set with a stirring rendition of Ravenna that had us arm-in-arm with lighters in the air. Then after what I'm sure was an emotional quick backstage break, the boys came out to slam down a medley of a few pre-Dialectic tracks. Ben spent most of the encore singing from a perch high above the audience that he climbed to in an Alive-esque moment, or floating on top of the incredibly riled up crowd.
All in all it was everything I had hoped for and more. Thanks to everyone for coming out, to Ben for the shout, and an enormous thanks to Alkai Diggins for all the great music over the years. Pics follow.

stay under the 1yen curve!
I'd also like to thank the Diggins crew for all the good times. Never did I rock the air guitar with such anger and passion as I did at the Diggins shows. This last show was something I seriously considered quiting my job and flunking out of school in order to attend, but these aren't options when you're supporting a wife and three kids. It looks like it was a great show, it's good to see Crichton's head and Bos' dag face. Once again, a very big thanks to Ben, Dan, JR, Justin, and Ryan for the great times. And and a very big shit god damn to Boones.

Hey Danz, give me a call whenever you're up for another historical tour of Seattle or the like. Maybe next time I can tell you about Seattle's key role in the Franco-Prussian war.
