May time is coming and a northwest trip is on teh EndarRaydarTM. I will be arriving May the 6th. What's the monkey lair got planned for that weekend? Perhaps a little j3rks0r tom-BQ on saturday May 8??

Let me know what everyone's schedule is like. I will be b-ham bound for a good portion of the trip but can do it May 8th or can figure something else out if that no worky.

Hi-Ho! Daughter #2's birthday party (actual birthday too,) is on Sunday (Mother's Day,) and we'll be doing exactly that sort of thing here. Saturday would work during the day, but we'll be out by around 6:00pm or so. (but should be back by 9:00pm or so.) So some combination should work out. Also, I am currently not working again, so I'm open during the week as well. Just let me know what will work out. Would be good to see you.

My schedule is going to be a bit difficult for those first few days. I would really like to make something work the night of Saturday the 8th if possible. Maybe at SpiderMonx abode (rumor has it that it is near certain Roxbury memories - or lack of memories - maybe we'll find a Porsche parked in the Fred Meyer parking lot) or if after 9 at J3rks0rs?? What do y'all think?

Unfortunately I won't be able to make the bday celebration as I'm heading up to Bham that morning for mom's day with mi madre. I'll be up there pretty much straight through for 2 weeks.

Very unfortunately Bos I won't be able to make the 22nd either. Damn that would have been awesome. But mi madre is throwing her annual party that night which I have planned the trip to coincide with. Too damn bad. Are you available the 8th Bos?

Sorry for making things difficult but let us endeavor to work this out.

So its sounding to me like the only time you will not be in bellingham is the 8th...

So you fly out on the 25th, when do you plan on returning from bellingham?

I would prefer gonglypork to bellingham if I were to name such a place...

McNevin - let's chat on the phone. I'll be around a bit on the 7th trying to chill with pops and then I will be back down at the end of the trip. I'm just saying I'd love to get something together on the 8th if we can.

So I'd like to propose a Friday night activity. A few casual drinks. My dad is going to join us but if we can choose a place near the Light Rail I'll be able to get back myself if he chooses to depart early.

So that raises the question - where can we get a few casual drinks near enough to get to the light rail? We need a new Zoo! I don't really know where the light rail runs and this map isn't a huge help.

NEW ZOO!! Where? Thoughts?

I should also say I'd still like to do some sort of BQ activity Saturday night if it can be arranged.

South to North bars along the Link

Columbia City Ale House Typical sounding ale house 4 blocks from the Columbia City stop.

The Beacon Pub Sounds like a real dive - but people love it. It must be bigger than it looks in those photos. Anyone been? It's also about 4 blocks from a stop (the Beacon stop).

Hooverville Bar This one is 5 or 6 blocks from the SODO stop but seems like an Okay place. The Pyramid Alehouse is right there too.

From there it gets into ID and Pioneer spots. Someone else got comments on those?

I think the Columbia City spot sounds the most promising.

Some place with good food would be nice. And some place where the tables aren't sticky would be good so I am thinking not a dive bar.

I'm negatory for Saturday unfortunately. We're BBQing Sunday for D2's bday, and then I'm available during the week.

Joey's in Southcenter would be nice. It is near the Tukwila station so you would just transfer to bus 140 which is an 8-10 minute ride right about 300 yards from Joey's. The 140 runs every 30 minutes until 9:30pm.

I've been to the BJ's in portland, they have delicious pizza, and their southwest eggrolls are better than chilli's. Has the atmosphere of a chatzky's though... :(

I have found the internet in my new house....
I am generally up for doing something Friday and/or Saturday...
The house is more or less in White Center.
The location is medium-sized. The outside part is larger than the inside part...
A Tom-bq or some such could probably be pulled off here except that I don't have the requisite bq, (or the Tom, for that matter.)
