The Dillinger Escape Plan: Miss Machine

Post by NEB »

Wow.

I have no idea, other than Agent Bos, if any of you enjoy the likes of DEP(not the hairgel)...... but their new album is about to be released and it is the one of the most brutal beauties that has assaulted my ears in a long time.

This release will be a full length(11 songs) which is such a blessing considering their patented style of releasing EP's time and time again. This is their latest release since their 2002 "Irony Is A Dead Scene" featuring Mike Patton of Faith no More and Mr. Bungle.

Although they have been mostly labeled as a math rock band, which listening to their earlier releases is not so hard to understand, this album covers MANY a spectrum. "Miss Machine" reaches the most brutal peaks, dark trances, smooth grooves and cathartik attacks all within a breath.

I personally have loved them since the first time I heard them and was always slightly sad to admit that "Irony is a Dead Scene" was far and beyond their best release mainly because of the vocal work which Mike Patton offered. "Miss Machine" however, has far surpassed what I would of expected on ALL levels and I believe will be the greatest pivot they have to stand behind to date. They went over the top with collective variety whilst never straying from their core sound... the Dillinger Escape Plan is a force to be reckoned and have proven it beyond a shadow of a doubt with this latest release.

Haven't been THIS excited for an album for quite some time.. I hope it brings them all the success they deserve. Umm... so, go buy it!! :)

You must be speaking of the concert they played at the showbox........?

That was damn good.. they played quite a bit of older material which I thoroughly enjoyed. The new shit.. however is equally phenomonal but along more variant lines.

HERE is a tasty spot to buy the album.. considering the mesh hat n' all, which I am also eagerly awaiting.

Received Miss Machine transmission from Agent Bos last evening, and noticed something on the site NEB posted about.

There is a song missing! : 8. Setting Fire To Sleeping Giants

Now there is nothing to stop me from buying this album!!!!!!!

Except for that anniversary I have coming up, and that baby......

Yeah saw the DEP with Ender at "Extreme....the dojo" in Tokyo. Bloody tight as a gnats chuff and hard as a coffin's nail. Intense. I will give this one a look and thanks for the ead's up.
