Return to Wake Island
So it has been far far too long since we put together a good multi-locale game evening and I am going to plan it damn it.
And what are we going to play? Battlefield 1942: Wake Island!!
That's right it was probably the last game in the Redmond house that we all had so much fun playing we couldn't breathe and it is time to go back for seconds.
Download BF1942 Wake Island MP Demo
[s]Download BF1942 1.6 patch (I don't know if this works on the demo yet - I'll check it out)[/s]
UPDATE: 1.6 Patch no good for demo.
When is a good time for everyone?
I want a show of hands damn it. McNevin, R3c? B333? l2? S.m0nx? 805? j.che? g.mon? Who is playing damn it?
...damn it.

I'd rather play a good game... Sorry...
You know, we all have Prey do we not? (from when it was $4)
All but one or two have L4D...
We all have Quake IV...
Quake Live is in Open Beta sometime this week I think. I already have a previous beta account, and it works great...
I'd be willing to install BF2, but I don't remember my login. I'll have to figure that out. If it just works with an EA login I have some from my other games...
Enemy Territory is free, WWII themed, and I'd actually play it. (I play ET: QW all the time, and the old one should be fairly similar...) I could put my bomb on a stick aversion aside to play this perhaps...
Not sure I want to install a demo of a game that I never got into in the first place...

Yeah, it sounds like they weren't expecting that many people. I guess they're bolstering their servers a bit. The line was somewhere in the 5000 range for me, on open-beta day, but it only took about 5-7 minutes to get through it. I've heard of numbers like 19000 though. Hopefully they'll get it resolved quickly. It's really quite a convenient game.

I was compozorzing up some musicalities last night. I could play tonight if people were so inclined. I think my notifications somehow got switched off in Steam, as someone tried to message me the other day and I didn't get it. I'll mess with that tonight. If you don't get me via Steam, call me. I'd love to blast some jonzbies! (My wee-girl's name for zombies)

I had to come into the Wake Island thread to find your Steam information to get you to play Left 4 Dead soon. The Left 4 Dead thread didn't have it.
Anyway, I'm adding you now. McNevin and I played a bit ago as a test run. It's amazingly fun with even two players, so we'll need to get something larger rolling. Tomorrow night anyone?
