Sasquatch! 2008

sasquatch08

Two of the men above are the artists behind one of the most progressive alt.noise rock and roll bands playing music today – the other two are the goofy duo leading the Kiwi comedy.folk revolution happening across America (can you tell who is who?). What do they both have in common? They are both on the bill for this year’s Sasquatch Music Festival taking place at the Gorge Amphitheater this Memorial Day weekend.

Pretty freakin amazing.  I bought my tickets – anyone else want to roll.

A few bands I am particularly excited for:

Modest Mouse – Always great to see these guys and on a huge stage with that backdrop – awesome!
The National – Probably my favorite new band of the last 6 months – so excited for these guys.
Beirut – not sure if I would rush out to see these guys at a $40 club show – but I am really looking forward to seeing them at a festival.  Their CDs are fantastic.
Okkervil River – Just discovered this band in the last week but I am already loving them.
Crudo – Haven’t heard them yet, but anything Dan the Automator touches is gold.
Death Cab – Top 10 live bands no question.
Rogue Wave – Really down with these guys’ new album.
Cold War Kids – Been diggin the Kids for a couple years but have never seen em live.
Flaming Lips – Seen them live once and they put on a c-r-a-z-y show.
The Mars Volta – Only one of the most amazing live music experiences evar – and at the Gorge… Damn I am glad I bought tix.
Flight of the Conchords – Not only are their tunes hilarious – but they are crazy catchy as well.
Built To Spill – As most everyone knows – they are definitely one of my very favorite bands of all time.

Whatta lineup!!

Here are a couple shots of the gorge for those who have never witnessed its beauty firsthand.
